This is an old question, but I thought I’d weigh in. The Magic Bullet does an OK job with things like ice and leafy greens (especially at the price of just $40) but it is not powerful enough to get a totally smooth consistency. A Ninja or other higher powered bullet-style blender will do a better job with smoothies and ice, but they also cost more. I do find this handy for grinding herbs, seeds, spices, etc. I like that I can shake it around (something easily do with my Ninja) and the lower power sometimes does better at these dry items than higher powered blenders.
